Some of Woodford’s senior athletes have been in action recently and over this weekend and there were other results from the US. Decent early season form was shown by several including 800m men Daniel Rowden and Canaan Solomon.
European U/23 silver medalist Dan Rowden, having not raced indoors during the winter had his first run out of the year at Loughborough on Saturday, and in the blustery conditions he was a comfortable winner over 800m in 1m50.87 secs. Also competing at Loughborough were Chloe Bradley who was 3rdin the women’s 800m with 2m11.77 secs, and there were further wins for Cameron Fillery over 110mH in 14.21 secs (-0.2) and Sam Khogali (LJ) with 7.05m (-1.4). At the LICC meeting Kaise Opera raced over both 100m and 200m and recorded 10.91 secs (+1.0) and 22.14 secs (+1.7) whilst in the hammer there was decent form from Peter Clarke with 56.61m and in the discus, Devon Douglas just got the better of Chris Linque with 42.98m to 41.57m.
Recently at Watford, European Junior semi-finalist Canaan Solomon showed good 800m form winning with 1m49.65 secs, whilst Anna Clark recorded a personal best placing 4thin the women’s race with 2m09.56 secs.
Now at University in the US, James Stockings has been in action recording decent marks over 1500m (3m59.00 secs), and 5000m (15m 05,02 secs and also 15m 5.84 secs.) HCA members also in action in the US included Jamie Crowe with 3m51,27 secs (1500m), 14m06.64 sec (5000m) and 29m39.03 secs (10,000m) and Matthew Arnold with 14m29.36 secs (5000m) and 9m34.53 secs (3000m s/ch)
