  1. Must have entered via the public ballot and been rejected
  2. Must be a fully paid up member of the club
  3. You or a family member must agree to help out at the Roding Valley Half Marathon

In the event that more than one person meets the above criteria, a draw will take place in the clubhouse.

London Youth Games, 16/11/19

No less than 22 young athletes were in action, representing either Redbridge (20) or Waltham Forest (2), in this annual event with no less than 32 London boroughs competing. Parliament Hill Fields is known to be the home of cross country running and recent rain had left many parts of the course very muddy indeed.

The first race out was the Under 15 girls with 230 starting out on their 2000 metre run through the mud, taking in two very long uphill stretches. Miya Maeda, representing Redbridge, ran her finest race to date to place 9th, first home for Redbridge and just 18 seconds off first place. Miya is showing great dedication as she trains just three days a week with coaches John Stow and Richard Thurston. Another fine run came from Mary Hardy, who was 57th and fourth home for Redbridge. Mary, too, is benefiting from getting to Trent Park weekly.

Met 2019-20 Race 2: U11

A tough, damp and wet course awaited our U11s in the second Met league race of the season at Welwyn Garden City on Saturday. However, as we’ve seen before nothing dampens the spirit of these athletes who shone bright beneath heavy grey skies.

Met 2019-20 Race 2: Young Athletes

For the second Saturday in succession the day started brightly with sunshine until cloud and rain replaced the weather but this time, fortunately for our runners, the races were behind us.

The course itself was undulating but with reasonably good going on parts of the circuit. Our turnout in general was good but this time we were missing some key athletes: two that had to withdraw - one through breathing difficulties and Ben Sloan making a wise decision to call it a day after he could feel a slight twinge in his right leg. Although present as a spectator Jimmy Geller is still recovering from his appendix removal just over a week ago. Another two Under 15 boys were rested as both are going through growth spurts.
