Competing at the English School's Championships at Gateshead there were indivual titles for both
Joseph Dewar and
Yucef Zatat.
In a weather delayed Intermediate Boys (U/17) long jump competition in Gatehead,
Joseph Dewar, coached at Woodford by
Gladys Bird, won the title with a leap of 6.98m (-1.8).
Joseph also picked up another gold medal as a member of the Essex Schools 4x100m team that won the Intermediate Boys title in a time of 42.00 secs. Woodford's other title went to
Youcef Zatat, coached by
Ron Bowden, who took the Senior Boys (U/19) Shot Put title with a personal best of 15.51m. Other Woodford athletes in action at Gateshead, included,
Harry Clarke, 5th in the Senior Boys Hammer with 55.89m,
Hollie Patie-Belleli, 8th in the Senior Girls 100mH with 14.87 secs (+1.3) after qualifying with 14.72 secs (+0.7), and
George Hamilton, 13th in the Intermediate Boys LJ with 6.11m (-1.0).
