Met League 4: Young Athletes

After Thursday and Friday’s snow, our runners were expecting some harsh conditions, and with the dark clouds forming on Saturday morning we feared the worst. However the sun came out and shone on our Juniors which at least made the very hilly muddy course a little more bearable.

Our U11 teams, sitting at the top of the points table with significant leads, were looking to strengthen their position and they certainly did.

Essex CC Champs (Seniors): Team gold for men

On Saturday, the men's winter team competed in the first major championship of the cross-country season, the Essex County Cross Country Championships. Hopes were high as a strong team toed the start line in a bid to make it a hat trick of county championship team titles. The course had remained reasonably firm throughout the winter but a long spell of rain on Friday night meant that surface water and some slippery, muddy patches were present.
