Our own Bertie Powell finished 2nd overall in 74mins 05secs, less than 24 hours after finishing 197th in the National Cross Country Championships over 7 miles of mud.

A special thanks goes out to all those who assisted in any way at the event, including: around 35 marshals, 13 helpers on registration, baggage claim and canteen, plus about 15 people on the two water stations (Young Athletes and Cowsi Magol with his colleagues from the Rotary Club).

Endurance Officials training course: March

Interested in skilling up to become an Endurance Official and helping out at future Met League fixtures? An Endurance Officials training course will be held in Belgrave Hall, Wimbledon across two evenings: Monday 13 March and Wednesday 22 March, both starting at 7.00pm. As a proud Met League Club we are happy to spread the word and invite members who have an interest in officiating to attend. A good many of the Met League officials (brilliant though they are) are in their late 70's and into their 80's and much as they enjoy what they do, several are looking to reduce their commitments, so it's time to encourage others to get involved, starting with gaining the basic Officials qualification.
