European Junior Championships Day 2

Eugene Ayanful, has this evening picked a superb bronze medal over 100m at the European Junior Chapionships in Novi Sad, Serbia. Eugene clocked a lifetime best of 10.37 secs (+0.2) the same time as fellow Briton Andrew Robertson in 4th. The race was won by the French athlete Christophe Lemaitre who recorded a new European Junior record of 10.04 secs. Eugene's time is a new WGwEL U/20 record, erasing Tyrone Edgar's mark of 10.39 secs. Eugene is now ranked 18th on the UK all-time U/20 list, interestingly equal with Olympic 200m silver medalist Darren Campbell. Later, in the the 200m, Junior Ejehu comfortably qualified for tomorrow's semi-final, as he too clocked a lifetime best of 21.19 secs (+0.5) for 2nd in his heat.
