Club 1/2 marathon record goes again

Dave Wardle broke his own club record on Sunday in the Bath Half-Marathon when he clocked 65 minutes 13 seconds. Wardle had previously clocked 65.37 on the "illegal" point-to-point Great North Run course in 2009 (which he feels is tougher than Bath) representing Woodford , and 65.15 for the GNR in 2005 while representing London Irish. His 65.42 at Reading in 2007 is the "legal" club record. His performance on Sunday was mostly run solo, chasing Olympian Dan Robinson who finished 30 seconds ahead of him.

It will be interesting to see if Wardle tackles the London Marathon this year. He is passionate about running a fast marathon, after unhappy experiences in his previous attempts (PB 2:25.39).
