Sprinters excel at 1st Tuesday open graded meeting

Poor weather in the morning and traffic chaos on the A406 in the early evening perhaps contributed to a lower turnout than usual at the Club's first Tuesday night open graded meeting of the summer. However, there was still a total of 159 entries and a number of good performances in all age groups. In ultimately benign weather conditions, the standout performances came from the sprinters. In the 100m, Sam Watts (U20 WGEL) recorded 10.83 seconds (w/s/ +1.9 m/s), which places him 10th in this year's UK age-group ranking list. In the 200m, Jordan Kirby-Polidore (U20 Ilford AC) held off Vincent Ogedengbe (U23 WGEL) to record 22.00 seconds (w/s +1.7 m/s). This result puts Jordan at 12th spot in the  age-group ranking list. The next open graded meeting will be held on 6 July.
