Track & Field Round-up: April 10th

There were a number of useful early season Track and Field performances from WGwEL athletes over the weekend. A solid discus opener from Tom Norman and a personal best over 400m from Omololu Abiodun led the way.

Tom  was competing at the Kingston throws meeting on Sunday, and he opened his season with a solid discus victory with 52.02m.

 At the Lee Valley Open Meeting on Saturday, Omololu Abiodun who improved significantly over 60m and 200m during the indoor season, opened his outdoor campaign with another personal best over 400m, where he improved by more than 2 1/2 seconds to comfortably win his race in 49.45 secs. In a separate 400m race, Junior Ejehu was another comfortable winner with 50.14 secs. Also of note was young hammer thrower James Smith's first U/20 competition with the 6kg implement, winning with 45.65m, and Diana Kennedy who won the 2km s/ch with 7m27.7 secs.
