Woodford Open Graded Meeting 5th July 2011
Athletes and officials endured less than dry conditions throughout Tuesday night's meeting. Taking into account the effects of wind and rain, though, there were many steely performances across all age groups. Four-time Olympian Donna Fraser (Croydon Harriers) certainly demonstrated her experience in coping with the English summer in running 55.93 secs for a season-opening 400m. Simeon Williamson's (Highgate Harriers) 10.56 secs (w/s 2.5 m/s) in the 100m was also notable. In terms of home club performances, Perry Rowan (U15), benefiting from the challenge posed by Joe Alexander (U17 Colchester), recorded 9 mins 33.84 secs in the 3000m to go to sixth place in the current national rankings for his age group whilst Tony Pamphilon (V50) achieved a top 15 ranking by stopping the clock at 9 mins 57.10 secs. Daniel Rowden (U15) also produced a very promising 53.5 secs run in the 400m.
