YA: Chingford League CC at Trent Park

With many of Woodford's young athletes racing for their schools on Thursday, a small turnout were at Trent Park enjoying the autumn sunshine. The tough course was a good challenge for our young athletes, with the going underfoot being firm and rutted in small parts of the course.

The Under 13 girls had two girls representing the green and white hoops, and Katie Petyt had another fine run in running 13 mins 54 secs for the supposed 2.6k course. Her team mate Aoife Guyatt, also a first year under 13 girl, ran well to place 6th in 14 mins 54 secs. There were over 25 starters.

In the Under 15/17 girls race, with a field of over 25 runners, Jessica Burgess was again in fine form, placing 3rd overall in 18 mins 09 secs, just under a minute behind Georgia Tuckfield, who herself was having a good run. Just 12 seconds behind Jess was first year under 15 girl, Alicia McArdell, placing 4th overall in 18 mins 21 secs.
