Representing GB &NI at the European Winter Thows Cup in Serbia, Mark Dry although a little below his recent best, won the "B" hammer competition with a distance of 69.60m. Indoors at Lee Valley in the British Masters Championships there were four medals for WGEL athletes. Gold went to Keith Newton in the M40 TJ with a leap of 12.60m. In the W45 1500m Bernadine Pritchett was 3rd with 4m53.25 secs, and there were two M35 medals for Chris Symonds; 2nd in the 3000m with 9m12.60 secs, and 3rd in the 1500m with 4m13.09secs.
