Hercules Wimbledon Young Athletes meeting Sunday 1st

7 Woodford Green young athletes took part in this meeting which is regarded as the 2nd biggest young athletes meeting after the All England Schools, with over 1,000 athletes taking part.

Alicia McArdell, in her first race since January, proved she is over her ankle injury with an excellent 5th place out of 33 athletes in the Under 15 girls 800 metres. Alicia was pleased to grab a new PB of 2 mins 27 secs, being only 2.3 secs behind winner Brown from Reigate. In the same event young Rosie Poole took 7 seconds off her PB to record 2 mins 29.9 secs to place 10th overall, an excellent performance.

Rosie's brother Alfie recorded a new PB of 3 mins 24 secs, a 14 second improvement on last year to place 6th overall in the Under 11s 1000 metres out of 27.

In the Under 13 girls 800 metres Aoife Guyatt slashed 8 seconds off her PB to record a fine 2 mins 42 secs for 8th overall out of 20. Olivia Hounsome recorded 2 mins 48 secs for 10th overall a new PB and Katy Petyt ran 2 mins 52 for 15th, also for a new PB.

Isobel Moss placed 10th in the Under 17 1500 in 5 mins 37 secs.
