National Junior League
Sunday 24th June NJL at Eton
Great team all-round team effort by WGEL under 20yr’s competing in the National Junior League at Eton coming 6th out of eight very strong teams. This result has also moved WGEL up from 7th to 6th after 2 matches ..but equal on 5 league points with composite team “ Basildon Beagles” . However, thanks mainly to the enthusiastic girls, who covered nearly every event gained those extra few team points needed to lift us up the league. Many thanks again to the WGEL team managers Colin and Christine, and our officials Jean B, Elaine Smith ,Graham P, Paul Cheal, and John Lineham.
Also congratulations to WGEL 2nd claim athlete Jermaine Hamilton for winning Athlete of the Match with 21.64secs for 200m
And to new PB’s for 3 girls Stephanie Smith with a new Pole vault of 2.30m,Chloe Michaud with a High Jump of 1.60m,and Johanne Lineham in Triple Jump with 10.59m.(
