Several other WGwEL athletes were in action around the UK, and amongst some useful performances were middle distance personal bests for Alex Cornwell and Matt McLaughlin.

Competing at the BMC Stretford Grand Prix on Saturday evening, first year U/20 Matt McLaughlin won the "B" 800m, improving his personal best by almost a second as he recorded 1m50.18 secs. Competing in the "A" race, Jon Cook placed 5th with 1m49.21 secs. Also in action over 800m, in the 9th race, Tim Prendergast, celebrating his inclusion in the New Zeland team at both 800m and 1500 for the 2012 ParaOlympics won with a season's best of 1m56.22 secs. Alex Cornwell's p.b. came in the "B" 1500m, having threatened to improve his personal best all season, he did so by almost 3 secs as he recorded 3m46.87 secs for 6th. At Birmingham in the Birmingham Games, Ezekiel Ewulo won the long jump with 7.53m (+1.8), whilst  Stephnaie Aneto was 3rd in the women's triple jump with 12.75m (w?). At the Loughborough EAP meeting, also on Saturday, Graham Hedman was 3rd over 400m with 46.98 secs, a race in which Sylvester Juwe was disqualified. At the same meeting, Azaria Francis raced twice over 100m recording 12.13 secs (+0.5) and 12.38 secs (-1.4), as did Jason Greenidge with 11.51 secs (-1.3) and 11.41 secs (+0.1). HCA member Jo Ryan recorded 57.52 secs over 400m for 5th. Competeing at Crystal Palace in the Southern U/20 Championships, Paul Scanlan picked up a bronze medal as he placed 3rd with an outdoor season's best of 49.29 secs.

Amongst some useful performances at the LICC meeting at Woodford on Saturday, was an 800m personal best from first year U/20 James Stockings with 1m57.99 secs, from Omololu Abiodun who recorded 10.87 secs (w?) and 21.88 secs w (+3.0), Katie Skelding 12.37 secs (w ?) and 25.31 secs, and Devon Douglas who reached 15.14m in the shot and 47.28m in the discus as Chris Linque recorded 46.94m

Racing in Europe over the weekend, were in Paris on Friday evening at the Diamond League meeting, Tiffany Porter who finished 3rd over 100mH with 12.74 secs (0.0), and in Heusdon, Belgium on Satuday evening, Shana Cox who won over 400m with 52.46 secs, and Richard Alleyene who placed 6th over 110mH with 13.89 secs (0.0).
