London 2012 Update

Last evening in the Olympic Stadium, Tiffany Porter placed 4th in her semi-final of the 100mH to miss out on a place in the final by .08 secs as she recorded 12.79 secs (+1.3). Earlier in the day there was better news for Tosin Oke who, now representing Nigeria, qualified for the triple jump final with a distance of 16.83m (-0.3). That final is this evening (Wednesday). Earlier in the week, Shana Cox placed 3rd in her 400m heat with 52.01 secs to qualify for the semi-final, where she finished 7th with 52.58 secs. In the men's 3000m s/ch, Yucef Abdi, a Beijing finalist representing Australia, just missed making the final as he hit the final hurdle in his heat, recording 8m29.81 secs. Today in addition to Tosin, Dan Awde will be in action in day one of the decathlon.
