Tim Prendergast 6th in Paralympic T13 1500m final.
Update: Tim finished 6th in the final this evening, running 3:53.60. His world record was broken by winner Abderrahim Zhiou of Tunisia, who ran 3:48.31.
Today (Sunday) New Zealander Tim Prendergast made it through to the final of the Paralympic T13 (visually impaired) 1500m. The final will take place on Tuesday 4th, at 7.10pm.
This is Tim's 4th Paralympic Games. He has won a gold and silver in the 800m in 2004 and 2000 and a silver in the 1500m in 2000. He has been in excellent form this summer, with a season's best of 3:52.58. Interestingly, one of his main rivals is the GB athlete David Devine of Liverpool Harriers, who ran as fast as 3:50.02 in late June.
On September 7th, at 12.47, Tim will run in the heat of the T13 800m. He has a season's best of 1:56.22.
