Woodford T & F athletes started the indoor season with some encouraging form. Of note was some fine 1500m running from junior Matt McLauglin and Alex Cornwell, from another junior, Joseph Dewar, over 60m and over 60mH from Richard Alleyne.

Competing at the BMC meeting at Sheffield on Sunday, Matt McLaughlin went close to his outdoor best over 1500m as he placed 2nd in 3m48.17 secs, a time that moved him into 4th place on the UK All-time list for U/20's, a list headed by David Sharpe with 3m46.21 secs. Immediately behind Matt, and taking time out of his fine cross country season was Alex Cornwell with 3m49.70 secs. At Eton, Joseph Dewar recorded two useful opening performances over 60m, recording times of 6.97 secs and 6.98 secs. At Lee Valley, there was news of fine opening marks over 60mH from Richard Alleyne who clocked 7.85 secs and 7.86 secs. Others in  action at Lee Valley were Paul Scanlan who recorded 50.01 secs for 400m, Holly Pattie-Bellili over both 60mH and 60m with times respectively of 9.39 secs, 9.45 secs and 8.28 secs and 8.32 secs, and Alica Roberts-Brown, also over 60m with 8.12 secs and 8.26 secs.

Other recent marks included Jason Greenidge with 7.17 secs for 60m at Eton, again from Paul Scanlan, but over 60m in the New Year's meeting at Lee Valley with times of 7.24 secs and 7.31 secs, whilst another 400m man Sylvester Juwe raced over 60m and clocked 7.17 secs at Crystal Palace.
