Away from the first Woodford graded meeeting , there were some useful early season marks for WGEL athletes. In the US at the Mt Sac Relays in Walnut, California, Mark Dry continued his good early season hammer form, again over 74m as he placed 3rd with 74.46m. At Gainsville, Florida, Tiffany Porter got her outdoor seaon underway, placing 2nd over 100mH with 12.87 secs w(+2.1) having recorded a legal 12.97 secs (+1.5) heat, whilst at Waco, Texas, Sam Watts recorded 10.78 secs (0.0) over 100m and 21..27 secs (-0.3) over 200m. Also in hammer action, Andy Frost competed at Grangemouth and produced a useful 69.36m in his first competition of the season.
