Wasps news

Sunday saw the first Minithon of this winter season at Lee Valley Athletics Centre for Years 3-7. It was well attended by clubs from far and wide. Woodford Wasps attended and did very well in their chosen events despite moving up to the next age group and finding tough competition from the older athletes. Notable performances were from U11's: Luke Finch PB's 60m - 10.8, an improvement from 11.0 earlier in the year and 600m - 2.29, an improvement from 2.37 in June and Zahara Malcolm PB's of 9.8 (60m) 200m 32.8. U13's Hannah Sullivan with PB's in 60m 10.6 and LJ 2.68 and Ella Wigul SB of 9.8 60m. Ben Myers also managed a PB in the 60m hurdles. The day was rounded off by Dwain Chambers presenting the medals and having photos with the athletes.
