Chingford League: Young Athletes at Alexandra Palace

After the weather at last week's ATW Met League fixture, our young athletes were bracing themselves for more of the same, however conditions proved much kinder this week on the return to Alexandra Palace for a glorious winter's day with bright sunshine and little wind - but no less mud.  In general, the turnout for this fixture was low in all races; perhaps understandable coming in the middle of the Christmas and New Year festivities. Woodford mustered just three runners in the junior races but they all made good showings.

In the U13 Boys' event, Joe Geller achieved a respectable 4th place finishing 5 seconds up on Orion's James Wood - a result which keeps Joe top of the league rankings.  He was followed home 30 seconds later by Zain Idris who was very pleased with 6th place in his first Chingford League race.

In the U15 Girls' race, Edie Preece rounded off our juniors' day by coming home first in impressive style some 44 seconds up on second place - and ahead of all the U17W runners too.
