M55s National Road Relay Champions

Woodford came away from the Masters' Road Relays at Sutton Park near Birmingham as British champions in the M55 age group. A well balanced trio of Richard Holland (17.32), Dave Cox (17.00) and Tony Pamphilon (17.18) all recorded lap times for the exact 3 miles within the fastest eight, and finished as comfortable winners ahead of the Welsh holders and old rivals from Scotland and the rest of England. The road relays round this classic course are the team highlight of the Masters' calendar. WGEL had managed bronze and even silver with our strong M40 teams of 1999-2007, but never - on the roads - the top prize, so this victory was particularly welcome.
