Woodford's athletes continued their indoor action, both at home and abroad. European champion Tiffany Porter, opened her season in the US, and amongst the other performances it was pleasing to see another hurdler, Dan Davis, back in action.
Commonwealth silver medalist and European champion, Tiffany Porter started her indoor season with a win over 60mH and South Bend, Indiana, in the US with a time of 7.98 secs, after an 8.01 secs heat. Dan Davis, who missed last summer, competed at Lee Valley during the week in an inter-varsity meeting and recorded 8.07 secs over 60mH and 7. 08 secs over 60m flat. He improved over the weekend and raced at Eton, where over the flat he recorded 7.04 secs, and over the 60mH he recorded 8.04 secs, and then 7.98 secs.
Racing at the BMC Lee Valley middle distance meeting Megan Edwards was close to her outdoor best, but recorded indoor pb over 800m of 2m07.50 secs. Another middle distance athlete was in action, but in Boston in the US, where Jordan Donnelly, who had struggled with illness leading up to the race recorded 1m53.97 secs, also over 800m, but earlier in the week had raced at Marsella over a mile where he recorded 4m07.98 secs. Competing at Linz, in Austria, Kitty Eleyae was 5th in the long jump with 5.85m and HCA member Dan Gardner was 2nd in the PV with 5.20m. Also in Europe, Ezekiel Ewulo was in Matasaarin, Finland and won the LJ with 7.41m. Competing in Glasgow, Ewan Dyer opened his season with a 49.78 secs, 400m for 2nd in the Scottish Universities and Colleges Championships, HCA member, and U/20 Jack Lawrie was 5th in that race with 51.00 secs after a 50.52 secs heat. In that same event Tom Holligan won over 200m with 21.86 secs, but was Dq'd from his 60m semi having won his heat with 7.02 secs. Jack Lochans was below his best with a 1.92 HJ clearance for 9th. At the Essex indoor Championships, another HCA member Jermaine Hamilton won over 60m with 6.94 secs.
