Woodford athletes were in action in the British Championships at Sheffield, where there were several good performances with 6 top three performances, led by a win from Tosin Oke. There was further good news of Sam Watts' form in the US, and from the Scottish U/20 Championships in Glasgow.

Former Commonwealth Games Champion and Glasgow silver medalist Tosin Oke did not take the British title as he now represents Nigeria, but he did win the triple jump competition with a leap of 16.59m. There were other good jump performances where, in the women's triple jump, Zainab Ceesay placed 2nd with an indoor best of 13.12m. It was pleasing to see Robert Wolski showing better form, as the former 2.31m high jumper placed 3rd with a season's best of 2.18m. In the long jump there were two 4th places - in the men's event Ezekiel Ewulo reached a season's best of 7.50m, and likewise there was a season's best of 6.22m from Kitty Eleyae for her 4th place. In the women's pole vault, Katie James equalled her best ever of 4.00m which saw her place 3rd and, in the men's event, HCA member Dan Gardner was 6th with 5.20m. Completing the field event performances there was a 2nd place and silver medal for Youcef Zatat in the shot, where he recorded a fine personal best of 17.14m.

On the track, there was also a silver for Omololu Abiodun, whose fine running through the rounds saw him record an absolute personal best of 21.18 secs in the final. Also making a track final was Elaine O'Neil in the women's 60m, where she was 8th with 7.69 secs, but she also recorded a season's best of 7.52 secs in her heat. Megan Edwards did not progress from her 800m heat, having been DQ'd after recording 2m10 secs.

Racing at Fayetteville in the US, at the Tyson International, Sam Watts confirmed his fine recent form and consolidated his place at the top of this season's UK rankings with a fine win in 20.70 secs. At the Scottish U/20 Championships in Glasgow, there were two fine wins for HCA member Jack Lawrie, over 60mH with 8.11 secs, and over 400m with 49.71 secs.
