England silver and P.B. for Eugene Amo-Dadzie, plus other T & F news.

Eugene Amo-Dadzie continued his good run of results with a silver medal and personal best at the recent England Championships at Bedford. There were good results from others there and at various meetings over the last week or so.

Eugene Amo-Dadzie who had perhaps surprised more established names at the recent UK championships when he placed second continued his good form at Bedford in the England Championships last weekend. He again placed second, this time to to Andrew Robertson (4th in this year’s European Indoors over 60m) and improved his personal best by 0.05 secs with 10.20 secs (+0.5) the same time as the winner. Eugene had previously improved his p.b. in his semi-final which he won with 10.21 secs (+0.1). Also in action at Bedford were Ollie Cresswell who was 4th in the 110mH with14.52 secs (+1.3), Lawrence Davis 5th in the TJ, with 15.26m w (+2.9) although picking up an injury in the process, and in the women’s 400mH Jasmine Mitchell recorded a season’s best of 63.69 secs as she placed 7th in her final.

 There was also good sprinting at the Lee Valley mid-week sprints event where Olumide Isaac improved his personal best also to 10.31 secs (+0.1) having recorded 10.39 secs (+0.7) in his first race.

 At Dagenham on Saturday, it was pleasing to see Omololu Abiodun back in action after injury with 10.88 secs (+1.0) and 10.85 secs (+1.0). U/20 Akwasi Banahem recorded season’s bests of 11.24 secs (+0.8) and then 11.00 secs (+1.1), and another U/20 returning from injury Tolani Alaba recorded 22.73 secs over 200m, whilst U/17 Shona Vincent was not far from her p.b. over 200m with 25.28 secs (+1.2). Jo Ryan was also in decent 200m form  but with a windy 25.77 secs w (+2.2). Over 400m there were season’s bests for each of Joe Dickenson 50.07 secs, Paul Scanlan 50.55 secs and Adrian Richards 51.34 secs. Another with a season’s best was U/17 Zahara Malcolm over 300m with 42.06 secs. Louise Gilbert was close to her recent form in the women’s 800m with 2m18.55 secs.

 There were also several younger athletes racing at this meeting  where U/13 Charlie Witchelo recorded 2m43.54 secs over 800m and U/17 Rachel Lam 2m51.89 secs. Over 1500m U/15 Boys Oscar Farthing-Barbero and Nate Harding recorded 4m37.71 secs and 4m39.63 secs, with U/15 Girl, Abigail Reid close behind with 4m42.71 secs. U/11 Daniel Niewczasinski-Kirkland recorded a personal best over 75m with 11.03 secs (+0.4) and also 22.26 secs (+1.4) over 150m, as brother Thomas and U/13 recorded a p.b. over 150m of 19.64 secs (+1.4).

 Racing at Milton Keynes, recent UK Championships finalist over 1500m Ben Potrykus raced over 5000m and recorded 14m16.71 secs
