Paris Olympic bronze for Yemi Mary

Although disappointed to not feature in the final, Yemi Mary John nevertheless picked up a bronze medal in Paris having led off the GB & NI women's 4x400m team in the qualification round. Drawn against the eventual winners, the USA, the GB team placed 2nd in their heat after a strong first leg from Yemi Mary. The following day the changed team placed 3rd in the final. Woodford's Cindy Sember was also in action over 100mH where, having comfortably qualified for the semi-final with 12.72 secs (0.0), Cindy fell and dnf'd in her semi.
