SoE Indoor Champs - Young Athletes

South of England Indoor Championships – Medals & Championship Records

The South of England Indoor U13/15/17 Championships took place over the weekend of 10–11 January at Lee Valley, attracting strong fields as athletes sought earlyseason form, National Indoor qualification (Sheffield, 78 Feb), and valuable competitive experience ahead of the County Championships (Lee Valley, 28th Feb – 1st March).

Age Group Changes – April 2026

This year’s indoor season fell during an unusual transition period ahead of England Athletics’ move from U13/15/17 age groups to U14/U16/U18 in April.  As a result, some athletes would move up in age group for this indoor season, before returning to their new categories for the outdoor season in April. This led to some in technical events deciding to miss the indoors, in preference of continuing to practise specifications applicable to them in April.

Race Reports

Across the two days, more than 30 Woodford athletes competed at Lee Valley in sprints, hurdles, jumps, middle-distance and throws, producing some excellent results, that included 9 championship medals and one championship record.
