Double European Relay Silver for Yemi Mary

Birmingham's European Championships ended an incredibly busy period of racing for Woodford's Yemi Mary John. Coming around soon after the Glasgow Commonwealth Games where Yemi Mary picked up a silver medal with the England team in the mixed 4x400m relay and placed 7th in the individual final. At Birmingham Yemi Mary was in action in both the mixed and women's 4x400m relays as well as the individual event.

At an individual level Yemi Mary placed 5th in the final with 51.12 secs after winning her semi in 50.33 secs. In the mixed 4x400m Yemi Mary ran the anchor leg as GB placed second in 3m10.47 secs and in the women's 4x400m Yemi Mary ran the opening leg as GB gained another silver with 3m 21.68 sec. Currently ranked 13th fastest in the world this year with 49.85 secs set in Tokyo Yemi Mary has qualified for the inaugural World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Sep 11-13.
