Overseas Action

A number of WGwEL athletes were in action at the EAP meeting on Saturday in Geneva, and Olympic finalist Sarah Claxton made her outdoor debut for the season in Norway.

Sarah Claxton, a finalist over 100mH in Beijing, opened her season in Floro, Norway, where she placed 2nd with 13.46 secs w (+2.1). In Geneva there was a pb-equalling long jump from Ezekiel Ewulo, who jumped 7.47m (+1.4), and a solid 400m from Graham Hedman, who recorded 46.61 secs for 2nd in the "B" race. Behind him, Nick Leavey recorded 47.66 secs in 7th. Tim Abeyie placed 6th in the "B" 100m with 10.73 secs (-1.6) and 21.49secs (+0.5) for 6th in the "B" 200m.

HCA member James Dasaolu confirmed his fine form this season with a pb over 100m (+0.9), whilst Simeon Williamson also recorded a 200m pb of 21.25 secs (+0.5).
