Peter Clarke
WGEL achieved an excellent 4th position at
the National Junior League Premier
Division match held at Norman Park
Bromley, on Sunday 26th July. The WGEL team were missing many
of their u20 athletes,
particularly in the middle distances. But, on the day, it was pleasing
to witness such an exceptional team spirit kick-in with many of our u17/u20 athletes willingly covering
additional events. All the women's events were covered and our young men covered
all bar two spots, gaining valuable extra team points.
Peter Clarke was named male
‘Athlete of the Match’ for his
winning hammer throw of 61.15m.
