Kathrine Foy wins Bushy Park 5k.

On 27th November, 20 year old Kathrine Foy took time out from her Uni studies (Nutrition at St Mary's Twickenham ) to run her first 5K Park Run in Bushy Park. Kathrine was 1st lady home in a mixed field of 491.

The turnout was around 150, down on recent weeks, mainly due to the freezing weather conditions.

Kathrine ran 19min 09 (25th overall) and it was good to see 3rd place lady home was Rebecca Oatham, also of Woodford, (73 overall ) who is returning from injury.

Note that lady winners this year include Emily Pidgeon, Stef Twell, Hayley Yelling, Sonia O'Sullivan and Charlotte Purdue, to name just a few.

5K Park Runs appear to be a growing popular phenomenon - FREE to enter races, extremely well organised and with excellent websites. All athletes register online just the once, print off a Bar Code, and this piece of paper is just  swiped at the end of the race, and hey-presto...the full results (plus all sorts of other statistics) are up on the website very shortly that day.
