Other Track and Field news, centred around the BMC Finals and the inter-county championships held at Bedford over the weekend. Woodford performances there were led by personal bests for juniors Jordan Kirby-Polidore and Matt McLaughlin.

Competing in the "A" race of the BMC Finals, junior Matt McLaughlin placed a fine 2nd in a personal best of 1m49.65 secs, as he got the better of several senior athletes including Woodford's Jon Cook who was 3rd with 1m49.93 secs, and Oli Heeks, 8th with 1m53.82 secs. In the "C" 1500m race, Tom Phillips just lost out as he placed 2nd with 3m51.39 secs, and in the women's 3000m s/ch, Emily Moss was 6th with 11m07.71 secs. The previous Wednesday at Watford, Tom Phillips had gone quicker over 1500m, placing 5th in that "A" race with 3m 49.29 secs, with Alex Cornwell 8th with 3m51.77 secs.

Jordan Kirby-Polidore finished 5th in the 200m at the Inter-County Championships with 21.41 secs (+1.5), he qualified from his semi-final with 21.07 secs. But his personal best came in the heat which he won with 20.95 secs, a time which erases, by 0.01 secs Tyrone Edgar's Club U/20 record, and moves him to 4th on this year's UK U/20 rankings. Others in action in those championships included, Devon Douglas SP, 3rd 14.47, and DT, 5th 45.42m; Chris Linque, DT 3rd 47.17m; Hollie Redman women's DT 8th 40.89m (41.01 in qualifying); Peter Clarke HT, 9th 47.77m, and HCA member Moe Sasegbon HJ 4th 1.64m and LJ, 5th 5.63m (+1.5).
