Hercules Wimbledon Young Athletes meeting
At the Hercules Wimbledon Young Athletes meeting held at Crystal Palace today, which is the 2nd largest meeting for young athletes after the English Schools, with over 1,000 competing. Under 13 girls Kyesha Robinson and Molly Gardner came away with medals in the 800 metres With a large field of 30 athletes spread over 4 races Kyesha placed 2nd in the first race, running 2 mins 40 seconds to claim silver. In the last race Molly won by over 80 metres in 2 mins 41.1 to claim the bronze medal. An hour earlier Molly placed 5th overall in the Under 13 girls 100 metres running 14.09, just 2 tenths short of gold. 31 athletes contested this event.
Megan Caswell placed 8th overall in the Under 13 girls 800 in a new PB of 2 mins 46 secs and Mia Hirons also lowered her PB in 2 mins 54 secs.
In the Under 17 womens 1500 metres Alicia McArdell placed 5th in 5 mins 09secs, just outside her PB. In 10th place was a massive PB from Abbie Dell in 5 mins 36 secs.
In the Under 11s 600m young Hollie McArdell, just 8 years old and about to join Woodford WASPS, placed 8th in 2 mins 11 secs, again from a large field.
