2014 Roding Valley Half Marathon
On Sunday club members, friends and family turned out in force to make this year's edition of the Roding Valley Half Marathon a great success. Over 70 volunteers helped to make the race a pleasant and safe experience for around 675 starters, of whom 654 finished.
The runners completed one small loop and two larger loops around Woodford, Chigwell and Buckhurst Hill. The men's winner was Sam Pictor, an unattached runner, while first woman home was Dani Nimmock of City of Norwich, who is a second-claim member of our club.
Many thanks to the small army of helpers who contributed to the success, and to club President David Hollingworth who has organised the race, a major source of income for the club, for many years. David has been receiving a great deal of positive feedback from the runners.
