National Junior League: Match 1
Our joint men's/women's team in the National Junior League Premiership performed well in their first match, finishing 5th of 8 teams. Amongst a number for fine performances, the highlights included Sam Watts' significant pb of 21.58 secs (+ 1.3) over 200m, moving him to 3rd on this year's UK rankings, whilst Junior Ejehu consolidated his 2nd place on the rankings with a season's best, and pb equalling 21.46 secs (+0.3). In the field Anthony Oshodi confirmed his 2nd place in the UK rankings with a 17.33m mark in the shot, and Peter Clarke was just below his recent hammer pb with 60.61m. Of the women, there was some fine spinting from Rachel Giwa, Kitty Eleyae and Jo White, and in the field Sarah Smith and multi-eventers Sam Moodie and Chloe Galloway stood out.
