Chingford League: Young Athletes at Hackney Marshes
Another lovely Saturday for cross country running however we only managed one junior runner, U13B Joe Geller. Having just a short tube ride to Leyton meant Joe had enough time for a nice short haircut before hand which kept him aerodynamic and assisted him in leading all the way round a flat and fairly dry course. However, on the run into the finish, he was pipped to the post in the last 50 metres by Luke Bluemink of Enfield and Haringey, a top year runner with a great finish and a 3 second advantage at the finish. Joe's second place does mean he has strengthened his lead in the League individual standings with one more race to go.
